Athletic Adventures

The world is full of places to explore and ways to traverse it; be it by wheel, heel, or rope I am always happy to have safe adrenaline-fueled adventures. While I may not be the most talented at any one of these transversal hobbies I am an enthusiastic participant.

In my youth, I enjoyed a wide variety of athletic adventures from starting with advanced competitive swimming, then soccer, and then finally earning my black belt in Shotokan Karate at the age of 17.

Inner Imaginings

“Fantasy is hardly an escape from reality. It's a way of understanding it.” Lloyd Alexander.

It is a passion of mine to both write and read, and while I am never satisfied with my own creations, I am an avid admirer of many other Authors.

Galant Gamer

Words and woods are not the only way to escape into new realms of thought and existence. In my more sedentary days, I enjoy Family Fortnite with my husband and extended family in Ohio.
For more in depth video graphic adventures, I am also a fan of Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and Zelda.

Travel

Earthly Escapades

Traveling the world beyond our shores is a unique and fantastic experience. One I have been lucky enough to partake in on several occasions. I have visited over 15 countries, including Greece, Australia, and France.

Themed Theatrics

One cannot live in the most magical place on earth without partaking in its incredible offerings. From intergalactic adventures to screamin’ coasters, to a swamp sidewalk alongside some of our pre-historic giants. Exploring themed entertainments is an excellent way to add some spice and delight into a day.

Townside Travels

The world is not all theme parks and jet streams, there is a gentle charm to the small-town life. Simple delights and mom and pop cooking are a great way to appreciate our neighboring states and nearby escapes.

The Family

The Happy Husband

All adventures are better with a friend, a partner, a confidante to experience them alongside you. I am so sure about marrying my best friend, that I did it twice within the span of a year.

We met at a pool within a week of our respective moves to Orlando. I dove in ready to speed through some laps and my friend dove in with his phone. James happily rescued my friend’s phone with a technical solution, that took him far from the pool and then jovially said “Hi I am James, and well you know the rest.

Hope the Hound

Hope is a rescue in the truest sense of the word. She was found behind a highschool, bearing clear signs of abuse, she was rescued by a good samaritan. When the pound called her rescuer to inform her that she was reaching the end of the time they could allow, the samaritan re-adopted her and brought her to a rescue.

At the rescue, she was adopted once, and then returned a week before Christmas with a broken paw and more scars.

It took them months to rehabilitate her back into “adoptable”, and us six weeks of visits for her to trust us enough to let her into her life. That was six years ago, and she is happy and healthy and puts up with all of our nonsense.

April and Dastan

Dastan was the first household pet of our Florida home. I saw his photo on the orange county website and knew he was going to come home with me. His description was “fearful.” He was in the back of the pound, in “isolation”, and the last day of his isolation was also his last allotted day at the pound. I was told he was too “feral”, but from my time volunteering, I saw fear not feral. Determined to look past the warnings I adopted what is now a meowing marshmallow.

April was shuffled in and out of foster care by a family that loved her too much to let the pound claim her life. She had a long list of ailments and was, by all means, the runt of the litter. Despite her small size, she had one of the biggest kitten hearts we had seen, and came with an upgraded purr motor. She was the perfect playful companion to soothe Dastan’s separation anxiety. Now the pair are inseparable and their steel cages long past.
